Senior Business Analyst - Tooling and Projects

Come and join our Enterprise Data Management team in supporting stakeholders across the entire Macquarie Group to improve how they manage and use data.

We are looking for a delivery-oriented Business or Data Analyst, with data management experience, who is able to work with stakeholders to understand their requirements or issues with our data management tools, document those as a clear set of requirements to then be solutioned by our internal technology partners.

You should be able to translate technical concepts into business concepts that non-technical people can easily understand, and vice-versa, and able to marry business requirements with strategic, enterprise, solutions within the prescribed data management tool set.  This will often involve mocking up potential solution options for testing with the relevant stakeholder groups.

As Macquarie extends their data management practices into project delivery, this role will also train users on what good data management looks like within a project environment, including adherence to the data architecture standard and principles, and effective use of the data management tools.

In this role, you will be required to work across multiple business groups, lead workshops, and build and maintain strong relationships. You will use your data management knowledge to problem solve and support a diverse set of stakeholder groups to mature their data management capabilities and the use of the enterprise data governance tool set.

In this role you will:

  • elicit and document clear business requirements for our data management tools, including new use cases and enhancement requests
  • train and support our broader project and data community on good data management practices in a project environment
  • be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on our data governance tool set.

You will have experience in:

  • hands on project experience in multiple delivery methodologies, including Agile
  • 5+ years Business and Technical Analyst experience, working with data
  • strong stakeholder engagement skills with a passion for championing change
  • experience working with business and technical project stakeholders to translate business requirements into data requirements / user stories used for solution design
  • 5+ years’ experience with Metadata Management solutions, preferably Collibra.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Financial Services industry experience
  • regulatory reporting experience
  • exposure to / experience of operational risk management.

If you have experience in data management and a passion for driving value through data, then we want to talk to you!
