Security Engineering Lead


Working as part of Macquarie’s cyber security platforms team, this role involves leading a global team of engineers that provide the technical services required by the CTIR functional teams for identifying and responding to cyber threats.

These services include, but are not limited to:

  • data acquisition, normalisation and enrichment 
  • security orchestration automation and response
  • user, endpoint and network behavioral analytics
  • endpoint security
  • security controls assurance
  • cyber threat intelligence.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in system integration, demonstrated experience with leading teams and a history of working with internal and external partners to deliver solutions. You should have exposure to the following technical areas: 

  • application development and support (Python preferred)
  • infrastructure Services (networks, operating systems, cloud services)
  • Security Services (firewalls, endpoint security, email security and authentication services)
  • integration services (CI/CD platforms, configuration management, cloud services).

Collaboration is a large part of the role; in addition to leading the team, you will be expected to:

  • work alongside the CTIR team to understand their requirements
  • work with our architect, scrum master and project managers to help manage a project pipeline
  • partner with ICS platform functions to support the wider cyber security team in Macquarie
  • develop and maintain relationships with technical service teams in Macquarie.  

Any experience with security operations or security engineering is preferred; however, it is not a prerequisite for the role. Experience with the following product categories is highly desirable, but not required:

  • Splunk, ELK Stack or SIEM platform
  • security orchestration and automation response
  • endpoint detection and response
  • threat intelligence integration platforms
  • Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
  • configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet or Chef).
