Quality and Automation Engineer

Join the Personal Banking Phoenix team within the Business and Financial Services division as a Quality and Automation Engineer.

As a key member of the scrum team, you’ll be an advocate of engineering practices that achieve the 12 agile principles and that deliver quality as an output. Your primary accountabilities will include holding the whole scrum team and train accountable for quality, and reducing complexity for developers so they are more efficient and productive.

Pro-actively work with developers to recommend, design, implement and improve engineering practices across all aspects of delivery that add value, prevent defects, drive productivity and efficiency, reduce waste and instability, and provide faster and earlier feedback in delivery processes while still ensuring a sustained focus on quality and the customer.

You will collaborate in defining and following design and coding practices and guidelines with the team, participate in tool and technology selection processes and creating proof of concept models for new technologies and approaches, encourage the execution of testing at lower application layers, and supporting the development of automation scripts and effective automation execution through the development and implementation of new automation technologies and frameworks for developers.

To be successful in the role you will be required to have:

  • a strong understanding of and experience in agile delivery and Quality Engineering methodologies.
  • experience interpreting data and results in complex technical environments to identify quality threats and risks.
  • experience designing and implementing scalable and resilient frameworks and self-service tools, and automating manual, repetitive tasks to enable developers to be more efficient.
  • ability to identify and articulate risk and problems throughout delivery.
  • experience identifying opportunities for improvement, selling your suggestions to the team, and piloting or leading initiatives to take advantage of these opportunities.
