MI Analyst – Data Governance


As an MI Analyst, your role will sit within our Data Management function and specifically the team that is responsible for building out and overseeing the data governance practices that are used to govern data across the organisation.

The remit of the Data Management team is quite broad, and you’ll be required to willingly take on a range of responsibilities. You will need to be someone that has a good business and technical reporting background but is also happy to work with business teams to elicit requirements and manage our stakeholder expectations. In this role, you may be required to facilitate workshops and user training so good communication skills are very important.

As a core quality we are looking for someone that has a good understanding of data and how it is managed in a large enterprise.

Experience working in a data governance function or working on the delivery of data-oriented projects is a must and any exposure to data governance and data management tools would be highly regarded.

Ideally, you’ll be a self-starter that is happy to take ownership of your deliverables and take the initiative to drive end to end outcomes.

As an MI Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

  • working with the EDM Team and Business Teams to understand and shape the data governance dashboards
  • documenting requirements that need to be implemented in our Data Governance dashboards and reports to support our data governance processes
  • developing and delivering training material and templates to support on-boarding of the business community into our dashboard
  • providing thought leadership and best practices on the development and evolution of the dashboards and reports
  • providing input into the DM Roadmap helping to shape the future direction of our MI and associated artefacts
  • supporting the Head of Data Governance in managing the demand pipeline for MI, status reporting and stakeholder management.

You’ll need to possess the following:

  • demonstrated experience in the data management, data governance domain and/or experience working on delivery of data dashboard projects
  • strong exposure to financial services
  • experience in developing and managing dashboards, data quality reporting high regarded
  • reporting and dashboard skills using visualization tools, PowerBI well regarded
  • business requirements elicitation and documentation
  • capability to facilitate workshops and training sessions will be well regarded
  • good understanding of data management principles
  • exposure to data architecture or data modelling highly regarded
  • data analysis skills and exposure to SQL highly regarded
  • exposure or hands on experience with data management tools such as metadata tools, data dictionaries, data modelling or data quality tools.
