Junior Developer

About the role:

The Macquarie Payments Applications in Sydney is searching for an enthusiastic and talented database and .NET junior developer to join its global technology delivery team that build and support a key payments applications used by a global audience within Macquarie.  Current and future projects include replacing core payments infrastructure and interfaces.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Work in an agile environment using SQL and .NET Framework
  • Build and maintain key applications used by a global audience within Macquarie
  • Work within a team of motivated and talented developers and to deliver quality technology solutions
  • Ensure high quality of solutions
  • Development, unit, system, UAT, performance testing and test automation
  • DevOps support of all applications deployed and to production environments

About you:

Required for success in this role:

  • Experience developing in the .NET Framework (at least 2 years)
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase)
  • Development of T-SQL stored procedures on SQL Server or Sybase
  • SQL Server Knowledge Including SSRS
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work in a distributed team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • A tertiary education in technology preferable
  • Prior experience with financial systems is preferable

An ideal candidate will be proficient in many of the following:

  • Language: C#, MS-SQL, Sybase
  • Framework: .NET, WebAPI (RESTful services)
  • Development environment: Windows 7, Visual Studio, Git, Unix
  • Development methodologies and tools: JIRA, Stash, Confluence, Udeploy
  • Infrastructure: Windows Server
  • Database: MS-SQL, Sybase, Oracle
