Infrastructure Architect

In this role, you will identify, define, and develop outcomes for technology, aligned to business outcomes, by evolving our technology strategy, ensuring current and future needs will be delivered. You’ll work with a range of stakeholders across our business and also closely in guiding engineering focused delivery teams, providing insights and technical expertise in the design of complex services across Macquarie globally.

The infrastructure services this role will support includes a broad range of technologies including Cloud, Virtualisation, Storage, Networking, Operating Systems, Automation, Middleware and Monitoring.

You will have analytical and problem-solving skills and will enjoy working with technology teams to ensure sustainable, secure, and reliable outcomes are being delivered. You will be curious about technology and will be aware of the trends in the market and be able to propose and steer initiatives that deliver outcomes for our stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will be to: 

  • identify, quantify, and propose outcomes, strategy or solutions aligned with business need
  • describe and communicate the customer outcomes for technical solutions
  • co-ordinate across different technology teams to ensure overall integrity and consistency of the delivered solution
  • conduct planning and prioritisation activities, coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of existing and target architectures.

To be successful you will have:

  • a desire to inspire change and foster the future for technology
  • a balanced approach to stakeholder engagement with practical problem-solving abilities
  • experience and understanding of architecture processes and practices, consultancy, and delivery methodologies
  • insights on design and operation of cloud technologies and associated practices
  • a range of experience across varied infrastructure technology domains
  • a clear view on the opportunities that future state of technologies offer.
