Head of Marketing - Personal Banking Direct


A unique and sought-after opportunity has become available to lead a team of high performers as Head of Marketing, Personal Banking Direct in our retail bank, Banking and Financial Services. This Associate Director-level role reports to the Head of Marketing Personal Banking and presents an excellent opportunity to join an exciting and fast-growing division within Macquarie’s Banking & Financial Services Group.

Personal Banking offers home loans, car loans, credit cards and deposits. We have award-winning internet and mobile banking apps and are focused on delivering a best-in-market banking and digital origination experience. Through innovation and a dedication to customer experience, we have recently achieved a leading market share in broker home loans and are quickly building capability in acquiring customers digitally, at scale through our direct home loan and deposit channels. To be successful as Head of Marketing, Personal Banking Direct, you will: 

  • be a Marketing Director who demonstrates leadership and is comfortable with accountability for delivering results. Success in our Marketing function is predicated on delivering sustainable growth outcomes
  • have a track record of working with cross-functional teams to drive transformative digitally led customer initiatives within start-ups or new business ventures within corporates
  • be an experienced and innovative consumer marketer, who has led teams to successfully acquire customers digitally at scale in highly competitive markets
  • have significant experience in managing every stage of the digital acquisition funnel from top of funnel lead generation through to conversion at every stage to deliver a CAC, scale and volume that is commercially viable.   

To be a success in this role, you will:

  • have experience in either established brands with new customer growth targets or an agile fast growth culture (both would be ideal)
  • possess a passion for growth, delivered through a blend of data driven decisions, creativity and human centred design to build marketing strategies that have challenged traditional environments
  • be experienced in managing a blend of innovative growth experiments, whilst ensuring our more established initiatives continue to deliver value and evolve
  • be focused on delivering business outcomes and results through inspiring and leading a high performing team in a fast pace and complex environment
  • ideally has worked with an agile methodology to deliver new product or propositions to market and have experience in end to end customer purchase experience where data and insights were used to optimise conversion rates.
