Futures - Clearing Operations - AVP/VP Level Appointment

Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets division provide clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities. The platform covers more than 25 markets and over 160 products, and has evolved over more than three decades to provide clients with access to markets, financing, financial hedging, research and market analysis, and physical execution.

In our Futures Division, we seek a highly-experienced Futures Operations specialist to join our growing business in Global Exchange Traded Derivatives and OTC Clearing.

As an experienced Futures Operations specialist you will already know the broader responsibilities in holding such a position and the key deliverables to ensure best practice and high standards are maintained. Here you will lead a team responsible for Trade Capture, Expiry & Delivery management as well as Client Allocations, with a significant focus on running the day-to-day processes, ensuring issues are escalated and progressed.  With a responsibility for the supervisory control functions and Reconciliations, you will work closely with peers and a range of business stakeholders. These will include Exchanges, Regulators and internal business teams as well as IT support for the management and  development of systems and processes to drive change and assist with management reporting on Straight Through Processing, market trends and broader components.

Given the market focus, this role will see you work Public Holidays and will require you to be willing to work flexible hours and times in order to support the trades of our clients across global markets.

We see you as:

  • being degree qualified with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in industry in a Futures Operations capacity. Strong product and industry knowledge in Futures & Options, OTC Clearing and Prime Brokerage is essential
  • bringing outstanding people management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • commercial in your approach, highly-detailed and methodical; able to work with large quantities of information and to form strategic plans
  • focussed and determined, able to work through issues easily addressing key risks and issues and escalating when required
  • being client-focused; understanding the importance of keeping stakeholders and clients informed
