Full Stack Java Developer – Business Banking - Contract

Macquarie Business Banking is a business division which provides specialised banking services to specific niche markets including real estate, legal & accounting, advertising and strata management. Some of the products and services provided include deposit accounts, loan accounts, clearing & settlement accounts with electronic and internet banking facilities.

About the role

There is an opportunity for an experienced developer in one of our Business Banking feature teams for the delivery of changes, environment configuration, release management and operations to our key applications, across a full stack of existing and emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • working closely with the scrum team in planning and sprint ceremonies
  • completing the design, development and release of application features in an agile environment
  • enhancements to our key applications
  • provide technical directions in technologies and processes that promote efficiency and quality
  • manage the mitigation and resolution of technical risks and issues
  • identify areas for continuous integration and continuous deployment and drive solutions to their conclusion

About you

  • 5+ years experience working on medium to large IT projects in financial services
  • comprehensive understanding of build, configuration management and continuous integration and delivery
  • proven experience with Enterprise Java and associated UI technologies, eg. Spring
  • proven experience with Enterprise Unix and scripting languages (Shell & Perl)
  • proven experience with Sybase and Oracle databases
  • familiarity with the following tools – JIRA, SVN, Stash, Crucible, Fisheye, Confluence and Git
  • financial/banking systems experience in lending and deposits
  • strong communication and documentation skills – including the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • a self-starter with a desire to effect meaningful and value-add change
  • ideally previous experience working in an agile development environment
  • strong team player and collaborator
  • strong troubleshooting skills and creative problem solving ability
