Financial Control - Manager, Central


As an experienced manager you will join the Financial Control team within our Financial Management Group.  You can be part of a team whose key responsibilities include advising the business unit and CFO on structuring of new products and transactions, as well as business acquisitions and disposals to manage the balance sheet impact and maximize returns for the business and the Group.

In this dynamic role you will have oversight and responsible of the following:

  • Enabling communication between the offshore Financial Control teams and agreeing accounting treatments and conclusions with external auditors and key stakeholders will be involved in your role
  • Partnering with the business in collaboration with other teams across Finance on new business products and projects
  • General ledger balances for several sub-groups across the Macquarie business
  • Work on the business impact assessment of new accounting standards and industry response and lead process improvement initiatives working closely on implementation with offshore teams
  • Identify opportunities for additional operational or balance sheet efficiencies  
  • Contribute to the semi-annual areas of judgement analysis for the business including the review of key accounting judgements and valuation considerations

Your technical skills and qualifications will include:

  • CA qualification with post qualified experience would be essential
  • Passionate professionals, keen to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with exposure to stakeholder management, projects and delivering change
  • Previous Financial Control or audit experience either with a Big 4 Chartered Accountancy firm and/or a large, complex organisation
  • Financial Services experience and/or those who have worked with or developed teams on offshore locations will be highly regarded
  • Prior experience in the application of IFRS or accounting standards to complex situations and/or general ledger control functions knowledge would be beneficial when joining this team
