​Employment Lawyer, 12 month contract

Working as part of the central Employee Relations (ER) Team, you will supervise one other lawyer and provide strategic legal advice and operational support across all of Macquarie's business groups. The ER team advises the business on all aspects of employment law, strategies, polices and governance. In addition, the team is responsible for providing guidance in relation to all workforce and employee related matters such as employment agreements and documentation, third party agreements and employment policy formulation for Macquarie worldwide.

You will be responsible for a range of tasks including;

  • advising on the legal risks associated with the full range of employee issues
  • advising on the interpretation of Employee Agreements, internal policies and the Banking, Finance and Insurance Award
  • management of litigation and advice on dispute resolution
  • supporting Macquarie's businesses on the employment issues associated with M&As, divestments and other transactions
  • project managing multi-jurisdictional employment issues

We ask that you possess a minimum of 6 years post admission experience (admission in Australia is required) with a well-regarded law firm or In-house. In addition we are looking for someone to bring strong communication skills and the ability to influence a range of senior stakeholders. You will also need exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and achieve deadlines.
