Employee Relations Adviser – Permanent or Contract opportunity

Gain considerable exposure to a full suite of Employee Relations issues in a supportive and dynamic team supporting business-aligned Employee Relations Consultants. This opportunity for either a permanent or contract role will allow you to play a pivotal role and apply a more commercial lens to your ER experience.

As a junior HR professional or accomplished recent graduate, you will work with the team in providing advice and support for specific business groups with respect to relevant employment legislation, HR practices, project work, as well as the delivery of key HR transactions. In this role, you will report to our Senior Employee Relations Consultants, and work collaboratively to support senior management and professionals across our ANZ region. With the chance to take on a broad range of support tasks, you will work across employment related issues such as performance management, disciplinary issues, and policy and legislative interpretation. Leveraging your ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, you will provide compliance, consulting and operational support where required. In addition, you will also be required to liaise with external lawyers on immigration issues and undertake necessary administrative tasks where appropriate.

You will build on your existing HR and employee relations knowledge and experience by assisting in the interpretation and implementation of HR policies and ensuring these are in line with Macquarie policies and the broader legislative framework. Your natural instinct to act with integrity and discretion will be evident in your ability to maintain case management records and reports.

Holding tertiary qualifications in either law, commerce or human resources, you will bring some relevant experience within human resources or employee relations. You will have a good working knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, as well as good judgement in balancing commerciality with risk management. You’ll be a team player, with the ability to also work independently with confidence, and you will be happy to support others to achieve the goals of the wider team. It will also be important that you have strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Ideally you will have exposure to, and an interest in, immigration law or have had experience on an HR helpline.
