Digital Product Owner

The Workplace Technology team is part of the Corporate Operations group in Macquarie. The goal across the multiple portfolios is to maximise the Workplace experience across the group. To remain competitive in the digital marketplace our client and staff experiences need to be optimised, meaningful and current.

About You: 

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic Digital Portfolio lead who is keen to shape the vision and delivery of a Digital Workplace transformation for our staff and clients experience. You will partner with our strategic vendors and stakeholders to plan and deliver an innovative digital platform experience, that will continue to enable and simplify our digital ecosystem. This transformation would encompass our corporate application strategy, the corporate web interface, intranet for the future among other innovations.

About the Role: 

  • People leadership – leading an engaged and motivated team in Sydney and Manila, developing local leadership and active management of talent at all levels
  • Delivery – ensuring quality delivery from each of the teams. Iterate, plan and prioritisation ensuring a constant flow of deliverables “Stories”.
  • Client and stakeholder management – demonstrating a strong client focus and a collaborative approach with stakeholders. Implement customer centric design to every part of the design journey.
  • Vendor management – managing relationships with external service providers. Looking to always apply a commercial mindset to and negotiation.
  • Strategy – evolving the team strategy in line with the broader Technology strategy. Manage and develop metrics that measures the success of each of our digital strategies
  • Continuous improvement – promoting a culture of continuous improvement with value delivered. Research and monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure understanding of the evolving customer needs.
  • Financial management – managing to agreed financial metrics
  • Risk management – promoting a culture of strong risk management

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Comfortable leading in a fast paced, dynamic, and matrix managed organisation
  • Visible, engaged and decisive leader
  • Ability to influence across teams, geographies and all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to operate at a detailed and macro view, adding value beyond a figurehead role
  • Ability to identify issues and opportunities, and work with stakeholders/peers to resolve and implement
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organisation
  • Technology leadership experience (ideally in a global financial services firm and ideally with some global experience)
  • Macquarie culture carrier and strong role model
