The Team

Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) comprises retail banking and financial services businesses, providing a diverse range of personal banking, wealth management and business banking products and services to retail customers, advisers, brokers and business clients.

The Products and Technology division of BFS sees product teams working together to share specialist expertise across all divisions and develop solutions that meet the needs of specific target markets.

The Wealth Division offers a number of financial products and services that are offered through a variety of traditional and digital channels. Together, these products and their distribution are referred to as the Wealth Platform.

The Opportunity

Platform Product Management, as part of the Wealth Division of BFS, has an exciting new opportunity to join their Platform Communications Team. The Platform Communications team is a specialised function to support communications as it relates to a number of our Wealth products and services.

Reporting to the Platform Communications Owner, the role will support the activation of new communication channels and technology on the platform, aimed to improve the existing customer experience, as well as supporting with the execution of digital production tasks that are owned by the Platform Communications Team.

You will work closely with the Platform Communications Owner and work on key initiatives and projects to activate new Platform Communications design and technology for the purpose of digitising and streamlining the Platform Communications experience for our advisers and clients. You will also have oversight and involvement in the regular compliance and operational digital production communication tasks and support the team with executing these items.

This will involve working closely with various people and teams, with daily engagement with our Product Managers and Product Development Managers in Wealth, data and analytics, and external agency partners.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Working with various teams to drive system design changes to digitize existing communication processes and introduce self-service capabilities for Platform Communications
  • Implementing digital communication automation tech and/or processes, and championing this within the team and broader business
  • Ongoing training and development of more junior team members regarding digital communication best practice, website design and digitization, marketing automation, with a focus on Adobe and Salesforce
  • Working closely with our web and online specialists to help execute the migration of Platform/Product web content from the current CMS to Adobe
  • Supporting the review and redesign of existing Product-Owned web pages
  • Overseeing and delivering accurate execution of product and compliance communications
  • Adhering to process and championing it, yet being flexible to changing circumstances
  • Maximising workflow efficiencies for all production tasks
  • Acting as the lead for more complex production jobs or large-scale projects (eg: onboarding of new Wrap badges and taking ownership of the communication design tasks related to this)
  • Working with other digital producers, communications specialists and product managers to determine best practice methods for taking marketing materials to market
  • Acting as a contact for agencies for product-related material, as required
  • Overseeing the extraction of client data for communications to ensure accuracy and updates to information at source where required
  • Working with data and other teams to ensure data integrity is managed
  • As a part of the Platform Communications Team, take ownership of the end to end Platform Communications process including:
    • maintaining process documents
    • identifying and implementing opportunities to improve and streamline the communications and production process
    • conducting training/orientation as required

About you 

To be successful in the role, you will ideally be tertiary qualified in Digital Marketing or Communications and have previous experience (3-5 years) with Digital Communication Platforms and processes, gained in a similar position within the financial services industry.

You will have a strong working knowledge of take to market methodologies and experience with implementing Digital Communication methods.

This role has a key focus on communications technology, data/analytics/reporting and website CSM / Adobe skills. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, data analysis, extraction, and system/back-end web developing is important.

Along with this you should be able to demonstrate the following competencies/experience:

  • Proven success with marketing automation, such as managing a business project to implement marketing automation at scale
  • Secure portal communications design for secure inbox messaging or similar
  • Web and communication design expertise, with the focus on moving communications to digital solutions and self-service functions
  • Proficient in Adobe (CMS/web) for portal updates / maintenance
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • High levels of flexibility and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and partnerships with other functional managers
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (for campaign building: email build and send)
  • Digitally savvy
  • Agency/supplier liaison experience
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Can-do attitude
  • Wealth Product / Wrap platform knowledge or experience an advantage
