Join the Sydney Collateral Team and help us to ensure that all exposures are met in accordance with the collateral schedules on a daily basis, covering a wide range of financial products (eg.SBL, FX, Fixed Income, Equities and OTC Derivatives).
You will be part of a team that manages collateral at the optimal rate while maintaining minimal risk, substitutions of collateral around dividend events, as well as internal risk/credit reporting.
Reporting to the Australian Head of Collateral Management, this role will allow you the opportunity to focus on a variety of aspects of Margining with regards to Stock Banking and Lending.
Liaising closely with a range of stakeholders, you will be responsible for ensuring all margin calls are issued by required daily cut-offs, responses to all margin calls received are completed in an accurate and timely manner and managing daily reconciliations whilst ensuring all breaks are cleared accordingly. Lastly, you will also ensure all payments have been processed on a daily basis whilst ensuring all client reporting has been distributed as per the schedules.
Your strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be important as you will be reporting to credit regularly regarding disputes and looking for resolution with both Macquarie and the client. You will be able to work to tight deadlines and you will be responsible for managing collateral eligibility criteria with clients in a timely manner. You will also be able to build strong relationships as this role will see you working with the various business areas on new project initiatives from start to delivery.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels. You will have a background in middle office operations and will have a solid working knowledge and a thorough understanding of the market. You will also be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment, as well as have the ability to work as part of a team.
Ideally you will have a proven track-record of generating new ideas and re-engineering processes to create more control or improve operational efficiency and be able to overcome obstacles whilst maintaining a positive approach at all time. Additional understanding of SBL and the market around Hedge Funds and current regulatory changes would be beneficial.
