Chief Engineer - Identity Governance / Lifecycle Management

A major initiative of Identity and Access Management is the internal workforce User Access Management Transformation. This transformation will give staff the access they need to do their job from day one, remove complicated passwords to remember, and leverage advanced biometrics, user behaviour analytics, and machine learning to drive quicker, more informed and risk-aware user access decisions.

Are you an experienced leader that is deeply technical and passionate about delivery, technology innovation and likes to feel a sense of ownership in the product and solutions you provide? This is an exciting opportunity for a Chief Engineer of Identity and Access Governance (IAG) that is keen to shape the strategy and drive delivery of the new suite of solutions, setting the priority for the team, and managing the pipeline of work.

In this role, you will:

  • ownership and accountability for the design, engineering, development and delivery of Identity and Access Governance (IAG) solutions
  • manage and grow an early-stage (and fast-growing) team of talented IAG engineers
  • provide engineering leadership to the technical team
  • help the IAG engineering team mature through a period of fast growth
  • ensure the team follows rigorous software development processes
  • act as a solution architect for the work the teams engage in
  • ensure the team builds products that scale
  • work with the product leaders on developing appropriate processes and team culture
  • architect the evolving software solution with a keen eye for balancing immediate customer needs and future market opportunities
  • drive new feature design, engineering, development and delivery

This role is a great match if:

  • coordinating a large number of teams that are distributed across multiple projects around the world is the reason you get up in the morning
  • you relish solving the complex operational challenges that a rapidly scaling team brings
  • you’re comfortable swapping between rolling your sleeves up to deliver yourself, and mentoring a team of people to self-serve
  • when faced with a new challenge, your first thought is “Bring it on!", and you say “I've already taken care of that” multiple times every single day
  • your sense of urgency is infectious.

Technical skills require for this role:

  • experience with SailPoint IIQ desirable
  • good knowledge of CI/CD
  • working experience in Git Hub, Maven and Jenkins (or Bamboo)
  • understanding of cloud environments – AWS, GCP desirable
  • experience working in an Agile environment
  • good understanding of Relational Databases
  • experience with system monitoring and logging tools (e.g. AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch) desirable
  • understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services e.g. DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, TLS
  • experience with other protocols and methods e.g. LDAP, REST, JDBC, ODBC Java/backend development experience (exposure to beanshell desirable)
  • exposure to testing frameworks – Junit (Mocha, Cucumber, jmeter – optional)
