Change Analyst - Macquarie Operations Division

Looking for a new challenge within a key part of the Macquarie Group 

The Market Operations Division (MOD) provides a key segregated control function for institutional and corporate businesses built on strong operational risk management and a control culture that is consistent and resilient. MOD is currently seeking to appoint a Change Analyst within its Sydney CLM team. There are two roles currently available: one is a permanent role and other will initially be a temporary role, with the possibility of a longer term position being available. You will be joining the Counterparty Lifecycle Management Team which performs KYC checks on new and existing customers to fulfil AML regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions so Macquarie Bank can engage with clients in a risk compliant manner.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • analysing data obtained from systems to isolate patterns using your technical ability
  • assisting the senior analyst with technical-related projects

Your secondary responsibilities will include:

  • conducting research on new and existing clients to obtain KYC data from public sources
  • liaising with the client, front and middle office teams to obtain required KYC and legal documentation prior to set-up
  • managing on-boarding and refresh cases, interfacing with the CGM desks on any CLM related query
  • screening of entity names against sanctions, adverse news and politically-exposed persons lists
  • escalating red flags and due diligence findings to Financial Crimes Compliance
  • maintaining customer data and documents into customer database
  • compliance to onboarding procedures and develops a risk awareness mindset
  • assisting with the day-to-day operations of the onboarding function including monitoring urgent requests/ queries and aged items

A bit about you 

To be successful in the role you will be enthusiastic, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative in a challenging and varied role. You will also have:

  • tertiary qualification in a degree which has an Engineering component
  • an understanding of coding and programming languages – exposure to one or more of the following VBA, SQL, Python, MATLAB, C or C++
  • attention to detail
  • a high degree of resilience
  • organisation and prioritisation skills to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • research and analytical skills, with the ability to summarise complex findings
  • strong written and verbal communications skills
  • motivation, be independent and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
  • strong commitment to completion and deliver
