Business Resilience Manager - 12 month fixed term contract


We have an opportunity for a Business Resilience Manager to join our dynamic Resilience team in Sydney. You will utilise your resilience background and strong stakeholder engagement expertise to support the Global Business Resilience Program, ensuring its effective delivery and ensuring viable and compliant resilience plans and solutions are in place from a business and technology perspective. You will report locally to the Regional Head of Business Resilience ANZ.

Within the Corporate Operations Group (COG) Services Management Division, COG Resilience’s purpose is to proactively evaluate, evolve and enable resilience enterprise wide with the aim of improving Macquarie’s capability to prepare for, respond to and recover from business disruptions. The team’s goals are to:  

  • Protect Macquarie’s assets, reputation and shareholder value
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and legal obligations
  • Create a culture of resilience by design with alignment to business risk appetite for the diverse markets we operate
  • Equip us to respond in a coordinated and effective way to disruptions across our business and support groups
  • Minimise the cost of business disruptive events

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing all risks related to business continuity and resilience for your businesses and region ensuring the right level of visibility and action
  • Undertake ad hoc administrative tasks e.g. production of incident reports, proposals, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Monitor plan compliance and strategy deployment to ensure alignment with Resilience Policy and Standards
  • Assess plans against quality criteria
  • Conduct reviews and assessments to drive improvements of current resilience capability of the business and technology services
  • Facilitate/support testing of business resilience strategies
  • Support Crisis Management Training Exercises
  • Deliver resilience education & awareness exercises
  • Liaise with other Risk functions as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Resilience methodology
  • Project management and delivery against the resilience framework and work streams
  • Support the preparation of responses to auditors and regulators
  • Respond to business queries
  • Contribute to Post Incident Reviews

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with stakeholders
  • Understanding of change management in a corporate environment
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership and control of delegated tasks
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Project management knowledge
  • A background in business resilience is preferable but not essential
