Broker Support Officer

An opportunity has arisen to join Macquarie Bank's Banking & Financial Services (BFS) Division as a Broker Support Officer, where you will be part of a highly successful team with strong growth aspirations.

The role is part of the Intermediaries division within the Sales, Service Centre & Operations, a key business within Macquarie’s Banking & Financial Services Group (BFS). Intermediaries manages distribution of home loans and other Personal Banking products through an accredited broker network, with a sales team that includes Field and Phone based Business Development Managers (BDMs). The Broker Support Officer role is designed to work in partnership with BDM and Credit teams to support and deliver an exceptional home loan experience for brokers and end customers.

As a result of business expansion and a decision to increase the level of support provided to our Brokers and BDM's to drive further growth, we are looking for a number of banking professionals to join the team in the key role of Broker Support Officer.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively managing home loan applications from lodgement through to settlement, including:
  • Reviewing loan applications and supporting documentation
  • Communicating with mortgage brokers to obtain clarification or additional information required
  • Acting as a key intermediary between BDMs, mortgage brokers and the internal Credit team
  • Dealing with other business partners, such as solicitors and valuation firms
  • Supporting BDMs to effectively manage and grow their business, including
  • Assisting with sales preparation, research and training activities
  • Proactively managing Home Loan application pipeline and work with Broker and BDM to increases application quality
  • Driving resolution of issues experienced by the BDM or their accredited broker partners
  • Providing an exceptional client experience when receiving and/or initiating calls to mortgage brokers
  • Developing a deep understanding of our home loan products and Macquarie’s positioning within the market
  • Participating actively in the team sessions to drive improvements to our service offering and process

About You

You are a sales and service professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and establishing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of two years working in the Financial Services industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills
  • A strong sense of accountability, willingness to take ownership and drive resolution of issues
  • An interest in the residential mortgage industry (previous experience strongly preferred)
  • An ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced and changing team environment
  • A high degree of self-motivation and drive, and willingness to learn and try new approaches
  • PC literacy and basic level ability on all MS products (previous operational experience an advantage)
