Associate - Operations Analyst - Market Operations Division

Our Market Operations Division (MOD) is looking to appoint an Operations Analyst to join the Metals, Mining & Agriculture (MMA) Operations Team.

The team manages deal verification, trade settlements and confirmations processes for financial metals, agriculture and Commodity Investor Product trades and for providing client service to internal and external clients of the Commodities Market and Financing Markets (CMF) Division

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of products traded by the CMF Division, primarily Swaps and Options. They will be responsible for verifying deals against trade recaps/broker notes, drafting ISDA confirmations, processing incoming confirmations received from clients and processing settlements.   

In this role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Verification and settlement of MMA transactions
  • Generation of ISDA based confirmations
  • Client service, both internal and external
  • Monitoring of incoming counterparty confirmations
  • Assistance on daily management reporting
  • Building relationships with various areas within the Bank, including Traders, Credit, Legal and other support divisions
  • Working with both the local and global CMF Operations group to drive identification and implementation of improvements in operational processes, from a control and efficiency perspective
  • Producing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures

About you

To be successful in the role candidate will:

  • Have at least 1 years’ experience within commodity or financial markets in settlements and/or confirmations
  • Have understanding of the importance of controls & procedures
  • Have high accuracy rates and a high standard of attention to detail
  • Have strong problem solving skills and the aptitude to learn system flows
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others
  • Have excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills
  • Have ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Be flexible to cover staff absences, busy settlement periods and work public holidays as required
  • Work well in a team environment
