Associate Director, Compliance - Commodities & Global Markets

Leadership role within a business facing compliance function

This is a great opportunity to be in a business facing compliance role, where you will utilize your proven leadership and relationship management skills to advise key stakeholders within our Commodities and Global Markets Group (CGM) to ensure Macquarie continues to meet its regulatory obligations. As an experienced compliance practitioner, you will have the ability to lead and drive change, engage, consult with and influence senior stakeholders.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for:

  • providing advice to the business on regulatory and conduct risks arising from business changes and regulatory changes
  • managing and delivering compliance projects and monitoring programs
  • ownership of regulatory enquiries and management of incidents
  • promoting awareness of compliance through training and stakeholder engagement
  • reviewing, updating and implementing policies and procedures as required
  • liaising with other members of the CGM-aligned Compliance team globally to ensure effective support of CGM's businesses (Commodities, Fixed Income & Currencies, Futures, Equities)
  • leading and mentoring junior staff members

We anticipate that to excel in this role you will require:

  • confidence and strong self-motivation with the ability to make things happen
  • demonstrable compliance experience – Global markets experience gained from Australia and/or overseas will be highly regarded
  • influencing and persuasive communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • experience with regulators and industry bodies such as ASIC, ASX and AFMA
  • the ability to work autonomously
