About our team

Our national M&A Advisory practice is an integrated team of high calibre lead M&A advisers providing transaction-focused strategic advice to private clients, large corporates, private equity funds and listed groups across the mid-market space. We advise our clients on a wide range of corporate transactions including acquisitions, divestments, recapitalisations and capital raisings.

Over the past five years we have advised on over 85 transactions making us Australia’s leading mid-market advisory team.

Due to continued growth in the last 12 months we are seeking an Associate Director/Director to join our Brisbane office.

About the role

This exciting role will see you advising our clients’ most senior executives to evaluate and execute M&A transactions. Importantly you will also play a key role in developing junior team members and raising the profile of the business in the local market.

Specifically the role will see you involved in:

  • A wide range of transactions including acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings
  • Cross border deals with international and national blue chip clients, private companies and private equity
  • Review of key deal documents including Information Memorandums
  • End-to-end project management of transactions including direct liaison with vendors, bidders and other deal stakeholders
  • Review of valuation materials and financial models
  • Management of the due diligence process including the data room and Q&A process
  • Negotiation of key transaction terms
  • Actively participate and lead business development initiatives, both with the Partners in the team, and through your personal networks

About your experience

The successful candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum 7+ years’ experience in an M&A transaction environment, preferably in a lead M&A Advisory role
  • Strong financial analysis, valuation and modelling skills, including integrated financial models
  • Highly developed project management and communications skills, including a track record of delivering outstanding client service in compressed timeframes
  • Sound understanding of the Australian M&A environment (public market, private company and private equity)
  • Proven ability to work within and supervise a team of talented professionals
  • A strong market presence and/or desire to build a profile within Brisbane’s mid-market M&A community
  • Dedicated industry experience is preferred but not essential
  • Completed a post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CFA or MBA)
