Legal Counsel - Retirement Living

Lendlease is one of the world’s leading property and infrastructure groups. Our vision is to create the best places not just for our clients and communities, but for our employees too.

Lendlease Retirement Living is the largest operator and developer of senior living communities in Australia, with a portfolio of 72 retirement villages across Australia with more under development.

As a result of parental leave, we have two fixed term contract roles for Legal Counsels in our high performing Legal team in the Retirement Living business:

  • One role is until 30 September 2021, based at our One Melbourne Quarter Office in Docklands once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, with remote working arrangements in place while our offices are closed.
  • The second role is until 30 June 2021, with the possibility of being based in any location and working remotely, given that our Melbourne office is currently closed.

In this role, you will be providing legal support to retirement villages across Australia, advising on retirement villages legislation and resident contracts, property, construction, procurement, planning, consumer law, corporate law, strategic initiatives, disputes resolution and supporting a conveyancing team.

You will have a “hands on” role performing in-house legal functions in the day-to-day operations of the business and will champion our customer-centric approach to all that we do, whether through direct interactions with our customers or through supporting our experienced business teams.

We are looking for two lawyers with at least 5 years PQE in-house or in a mid- to top-tier private practice with experience in property law. Experience in the retirement living industry would be viewed very favourably. You will be a confident and articulate individual who can independently assist the business with the provision of legal advice in a busy and stimulating environment. You will be a team player, customer-focussed and highly motivated with a high attention to detail and able to take initiative.

Lendlease is a diverse, flexible and inclusive employer of choice. We engage, enable and empower our people. Inclusion sets all of us up for success.
