Garden and General Maintenance Officer


Currently, we a looking for a motivated, customer-oriented and experienced Garden and General Maintenance Officer to join the team at Menzies Malvern. On offer is a permanent, part-time role with flexible working arrangements available.

You will be required to deliver general lawn, garden and property maintenance, repairs of buildings as well as cleaning in accordance with the Village Maintenance Plan. Initially – we are looking to offer 8-10 hours per week. Further skill in Maintenance and Cleaning will give you the opportunity to extend these hours (if this is of interest to you).

Working under the guidance of the Village Manager, you will execute all maintenance activities in accordance with the existing frameworks and budget – ensuring that all work is carried out following the correct procedures. As you will be working alongside our many residents, a customer-service focus is essential, along with a genuine interest in assisting the elderly.

To be successful you must have:

  • Demonstrated competence as a Gardener – sawing, hedging, planting, mowing etc.
  • Understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job.
  • High organisation skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Strong customer service and team focus.
  • General Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety legislation.
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Handyperson or Commercial Cleaning skills (Highly desirable).
