Community Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Community Coordinator to join our successful Communities Development business, working in Melbourne. This is a permanent position that can be either full time or have the option of 4 days a week. We are also open to discussing other flexible options that maybe required.

The role will be split between working at the head office at The Gauge (soon to be moved to Melbourne Quarter) and on-site at Aurora in Epping.

Our Communities Development business is renowned for designing safe, welcoming communities with the best facilities for people to live, work, learn and play. They’re places that combine appealing architecture and vibrant urban meeting spaces with parks, waterways, green open spaces and leafy streetscapes.

In this unique position as Community Coordinator, you’ll assist and support the Communities Partnership Manager in developing and delivering community engagement and development plans for our master planned community – Aurora.

Your main responsibility will be to implement and coordinate community engagement activities and events. You’ll facilitate the start-up of community groups, evaluate sponsorship requests, and drive cohesion and unity within the neighbourhoods. You’ll proactively engage with councils and resident, community, and education providers, as well as community partnerships service providers.

This role would suit an individual with a background in Community Development, Planning, Social Work or other disciplines relevant to community engagement support roles. Essentially, you’ll have a genuine passion for identifying and achieving the best outcomes for our communities!

Your background could include working for a council, not for profit, or social enterprise, where you’ll be able to demonstrate experience delivering community focussed initiatives working with a restricted budget. Your success in this role will come down to your analytical skills, commercial acumen, results focus, ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will help to develop solid and authentic relationships within the wider community and local stakeholders.
