Casual Cook


Koorootang Retirement Village is currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed and customer service focused Cook to join their team on a casual basis.

As a Cook within our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of high quality food and catering services, meeting the specific needs of residents in accordance with Lendlease standards and regulations. You may be required to supervise some Kitchen staff and participate in training and rostering. This is a hands on role and includes stock rotation, cleaning and maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen

Additional duties may include Inventory Control including ordering of stock, function/service preparation, EH&S regulation and overall hands-on management of the Kitchen to meet our high standards. To be successful you must have;

  • Relevant trade certificate or qualification.
  • Demonstrated competence in a similar role.
  • Relevant Food Safety qualification and knowledge.
  • Broad understanding of the legislation, regulations and requirements, and issues affecting Retirement Villages. This includes working with specialised dietary requirements.
  • Highly organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
