Senior Legal Consultant

Starting with KPMG as a Senior Lawyer, you will take on a senior role within a remediation managed services program by supporting the operational teams and providing astute commercial legal advice. The successful individual will be a senior member of the legal team and will be required to provide on site support to our client and internal operations.

Your major responsibilities will include:

  • Providing commercially relevant legal advice to KPMG's remediation operations, including assessing legal risks and providing options to enable the firm to make informed choices
  • Liaising with financial institutions on a regular basis re policy/regulatory/customers/complex products etc;
  • Handling highly complex issues, vulnerable customers and AFCA; 
  • Participate effectively in key business projects including identification and management of legal risks within projects
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in relation to legal, regulatory, compliance and policy;
  • Acting as a member of the Exceptions Panel and assisting in settling difficult and unique cases and issues.

This position is a 12 month contract initially based in Barangaroo for the first few months then will be based out at Rhodes.

How are you Extraordinary?

  • 2 to 5 years’ post qualification experience (PQE)
  • Financial Advice Law experience mandatory (retail distribution is the main source of experience required)
  • Remediation experience highly valued
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
