Senior Consultant - GMS Tax Advisory

The Global Mobility Services team within the KPMG People Services business in Australia offers both Australian and US tax services to clients. The team has experienced significant growth and is recruiting experienced Senior Consultants and Managers to join the high performing team in Sydney.

Working across both Australian and US tax, the team has a clear focus on providing a high-touch, value-add advisory service to a diverse client portfolio.

Your new role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Consulting to Australian mid-market clients as they expand into the US and start to send expat employees on assignment.
  • Providing holistic US and Australian tax support to senior executives to assist with their global tax obligations;
  • Working with individual US citizen clients in Australia, including business owners, and high-net worth family groups.
  • Liaising with our compliance team in India in preparation of individual tax returns, as well as foreign informational filings. Including reporting for Foreign Trusts and partnerships, Controlled Foreign Companies and PFICs.

You bring to the role

  • Experience working in a US global mobility services tax practice, or working with US individual clients residing outside of the US.
  • Experience in executing both compliance and advisory work for clients
  • Experience in Australian tax not required - however a willingness to learn is essential.
  • A commitment to client service with a proven track record of developing strong relationships with clients.
  • Strong tax technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, supervise and mentor team members
