Security and Network Architect - Business Services

KPMG is going through some significant IT transformations in the Security and Networking domain. KPMG is looking for an experienced Security and Network focused Architect with a broad reaching ability to adapt to a fast changing IT landscape.  This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant difference to KPMG as a firm by helping to drive leading technology initiatives across our business.

As part of IT Architecture Services, you will be directly responsible for defining and applying a methodology for describing a current and/or future structure and behaviour for an organisation's security processes, standard operating procedures, baseline security requirements, and configurations, so that they align with the organisation's strategic goals and risk appetite. Your stakeholders include; the CISO, the Head of IT Operations, Head of Architecture and other IT Leadership members.  The role will achieve the strategic and tactical architectural needs of the organisation in the following way:

  • Development and delivery of security reference architecture and design for KPMG.
  • Provide deep knowledge with respect to secure cloud and network architecture, design patterns and integration, including public cloud environments.
  • Evaluation of the current security posture & network security products
  • Work effectively with application owners to securely deliver on their requirements including but not limited to network and security services
  • Work with IT Leadership to understand the current state of project delivery platform(s) in order to understand impacts and risks to the uplifting of existing or implementation of new services within the platform(s), focused on end-to-end delivery optimisation.
  • Create and publish standards that will produce repeatable solutions that are optimised for operations to manage and maintain preferably through their existing management tools.

You bring to the role: 

  • Experience with architecture and implementation of various security-related solutions including identity & access management, vulnerability management, threat modelling, enterprise key management etc.
  • Expert in Technical Architecture - Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of Technical Architecture. TOGAF certification desirable
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business studies or Engineering discipline with specific studies in Information Technology  
  • 8+ years’ experience in IT, preferably with 2+ years as a Security Architect
  • Experience working in public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google cloud)
  • Significant experience in the end-to-end project life cycle – including high level architecture, detailed design & implementation
  • Experience with development of Technology Architectures (E.g. Storage, Network, Compute)
  • Familiar with Security Architectures and how to govern/guide solutions based on such reference architectures, standards, and policies
  • Proven Network capability – specifically with Data Centre technologies, but also with a functional knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies and the deployment and security thereof.
