Project Manager - Legal Transformation

Legal Operations and Transformation Services has recently been established to help in-house legal counsel re-imagine the future of their legal services delivery model by assessing their current operations, defining the future operating model, identifying technology that will support delivery of legal services to the business and implementation of a transformation plan. LOTS brings together former General Counsels, experienced legal project managers, business process engineers and applied legal technologists and leverages KPMG’s advanced data analytics and technology capabilities to help transform the Australian in-house legal landscape. As part of this, the LOTS team needs to expand our program management capability.


Your new role
 

  • You will have the ability to successfully deliver significant client-based transformation programs within the in-house legal sector.
  • You will utilise existing relationships and networks to identify business opportunities for KPMG within the in-house legal sector and convert these opportunities into work that supports our clients achieve their transformational goals.
  • You will manage key parts of transformation engagements by ensuring that realistic project management is executed, taking into account a breadth of standard project management capabilities including stakeholder, critical path, risk, budget, people, quality and scope management.
  • To be part of the delivery team of transformational programs, involving all elements of senior program management, at key clients.  This includes stakeholder management within In-house Legal Teams, planning, financials, reporting and experience with procurement and vendor management.
  • To be able to lead a program using Prince2 (or equivalent) methodology while taking in account scope, budget, time, quality, stakeholder and risk & issues.

 
You bring to the role
 

  • A tertiary qualification
  • Experience in Project Management within the legal services sector
  • Experience at a Management Consultancy, Top tier law firm or in-house legal department in a similar capacity is highly preferred
  • Experience in being part of transformational programs within small and / or large teams
  • Experience in managing projects using Prince2 project methodology (or equivalent) 
  • Highly developed written and spoken communication skills particularly when communicating on a plan, its construct and its status
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as successful stakeholder, people management and team facilitation skills.
