The National Health, Ageing and Human Services (HAHS) team within KPMG is a highly experienced and motivated team that has been involved in some of Australia's largest and most complex reform programs. We are looking for a Manager to join our team in Canberra with particular emphasis on supporting work within our Aged Care sector.

You will be part of a market leading and innovative team and will help lead and manage significant Ageing projects. You will have relevant experience in at least one or more of the following areas in Aged Care policy, residential care, home care, and/or dementia.  

Your role as a Manger in Management Consulting will see you:

  • Assisting clients with Policy and strategy development  – Managing a broad range of interesting and dynamic projects in government, and non-government (for profit and not for profit) sector related areas in understanding policy problems and providing practical and strategic advice, undertaking system and policy reviews, and advising on strategies to achieve policy objectives and strategic advice on options for reform.
  • Developing and fostering Client Relationships - Working directly with clients and alongside a diverse range of professionals to understand client challenges and build trust
  • Ongoing Professional Development - Strong focus on professional development with ongoing training and mentoring in one of the world’s most respected and trusted professional services firms.
  • Working as a team member to produce successful client solutions.

What you bring to the role:

You will work on demanding but intellectually stimulating and challenging work using advanced methodologies and tools.  Your passion for developing client solutions will be backed by the following attributes and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing multiple and concurrent engagements with Aged Care clients ensuring high quality solutions and outcomes
  • Experience in the delivery of projects using project management methodologies
  • Honed Stakeholder management skills and the ability to adapt, manage and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds  
  • Highly developed communication and reporting skills, including excellent analytical and research skills
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably at postgraduate level or experience in a Social Policy or Service Delivery environment or other fields as relevant
  • Prior experience working in environments such as a Professional Consulting firm or within Government or in the not-for-profit Sector across Australia

    Some of the types of projects you might be involved in include:

  • Quality and safety in aged care
  • Operational improvement
  • Policy reforms and strategy development
  • Business process reviews
  • System and organisational reform
  • Client centred service design

You will have a proven track record of 3 years plus in consulting or similar field and relevant experience in a Social Policy or Service Delivery environment in at least one of the following disciplines:  aged care, home care, residential care, dementia.  You will need a strong interest in and commitment to continuing to develop your skills in these areas.

You are motivated by a strong sense of empathy with clients and care about delivering great outcomes for them.

You have excellent strategic and innovative thinking skills in social policy with the ability to develop tailored solutions to address complex issues across the Aged Care sector

You will enjoy collation and analysis of data, with the ability to assemble information from multiple means.
