KPMG’s Enterprise Management Consulting practice provides a dedicated mid-market consulting advisory service, offering Tier 1 consulting expertise to help clients solve and implement solutions to address the often complex challenges across their business.

Your Opportunity

You will lead and consult on client projects, translating business and customer strategies into technology strategies, business-led technology target operating models, operational and technology requirements and innovative solutions.  You will identify changes and recommend solutions that will typically involve a combination of customer/citizen centricity, process and value stream analysis, operational and technology management, continuous improvement, organisational change and technology adoption. You will lead digital transformations, and work together with our strategy and business operations team to ensure the envisioned business outcomes are the primarily guidance for your delivery. You will be leading to innovative operations for a world class mid-market. 

Working with leaders in the industry you’ll be exposed to a range of exciting projects as well as experiences that may look like:

  • Translating business, product, services and customer strategies into technology strategies
  • Working shoulder to shoulder with clients and KPMG personnel to bring innovation to different sectors in the mid-market
  • Defining the technology strategy to create new streams of revenues in a business
  • Executing on the technology strategies you have designed
  • Defining technology target operating models to align organisational strategy to processes, people, capabilities, infrastructure, technology and measures
  • Designing the target architecture of front, middle and back offices
  • Determining the benefits of technology change and the impacts on operational processes, productivity and capacity
  • Provide analysis and critical thinking to solve complex and challenging problems
  • Working closely with the local and national team to bring innovation to our existing capabilities to help KPMG remain at the forefront of strategy, operational excellence and technology practices and thinking 
  • Focusing on delivering high quality engagement outcomes for our clients and maintaining productive client relationships that allow you to build strong professional networks over time
  • Supporting the development of compelling and differentiated value propositions in opportunity pursuits
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues across the wider Enterprise team nationally and globally as well as collaborating with other service lines and sector groups to leverage the breadth of the firm’s expertise and innovation
  • Taking responsibility for day to day client engagements and be accountable for delivering high quality outputs for our clients
  • Supporting a high performance culture to consistently deliver quality outcomes for clients and great growth opportunities and mentorship for junior colleagues
  • Analysing, workshopping and presenting insights and recommendations enabled by strategic thinking, technical knowledge and strong and clear communication skills;

  • Previous experience working for a well-regarded Management Consulting firm or acting as the client manage in engaging and managing consultants on significant strategy and operations projects
  • Proven record of leading high performing consulting teams
  • Comfort with providing guidance to junior resources, to advise senior resources, and to provide open and honest feedback on a regular basis
  • Ability to apply structured thinking and analysis techniques to complex and ambiguous problems is second to none
  • Exposure or experience with the practical application of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Proven ability to translate business and customer needs into tangible outcomes
  • Experience in design or deployment of robotic process automation to support improvements in efficiency, effectiveness or service is desirable
  • Experience with business architecture
  • Exposure to operations technology such as Oracle, Salesforce and Workday, and comfortable with leading product selection exercises and product implementations with a business-led approach
  • Experience, exposure or passion for:
    • Different sectors, primarily consumer, industrial healthcare, education, and/or financial services;
    • Technology strategy development and roadmap;
    • Business-led technology operating models;
    • Digital, customer engagement and common core systems and platforms;
    • Major technology trends, innovations and their practical applications;
    • Mid-market cloud products that support front, middle and back offices;
    • Modern infrastructure technologies including IaaS and PaaS;
    • Sourcing approaches;
    • Design and delivery of enterprise architecture, application architecture and integration design;
    • Mobility strategy and architecture;
    • Architectural frameworks and methods such as TOGAF and others;
    • Approaches to technology governance and innovative ways of working.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skill
  • Robust structured problem solving and advanced analytical skills
  • Experience undertaking business requirement analysis
  • Experience with designing and implementing business Target Operating Models 
  • Understanding of modern business technologies that support business processes
  • Outstanding storyboarding skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences, in terms of seniority and background
