Located within KPMG's Audit, Assurance and Risk Consulting Division, KPMG's Risk Strategy and Technology team is the advisory team of choice for some of largest and leading financial institutions globally. We provide a wide range of risk management services across the financial services, corporate, and government sectors. Our clients include the leading banks, financial institutions and financial services companies operating in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region, government agencies, and corporates in Australia.

We are now looking for exceptional people to join our team in the Melbourne office to support a growing practice across all risk disciplines.

Your Opportunity

As a Manager, you will work closely with senior management to execute a range of engagements. You will have the opportunity to be client facing, delegating and supervising more junior team members while being involved in projects that enhance your understanding of wider business issues. Your role will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and executing multiple client engagements;
  • Assisting senior management with providing expert advice across various risk management frameworks and models;
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships during and post engagements
  • Managing client deliverables and expectations, including drafting client reports and presentations
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff to enable them to perform across various engagements

How are you Extraordinary?

  • Tertiary qualifications or higher in engineering, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial studies, finance, or related discipline
  • Sound understanding of the principles of Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Passionate about embracing and harnessing technology into real world solutions
  • A good understanding of applying data analytics to derive insightful outcomes to problem solve issues for our clients
  • Proven experience in programming solutions to develop/validate statistical models for credit risk management
  • Experience in statistical packages such as SAS, R, Matlab and VBA is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in handling data in excel and using Data analytic software such as Qlik and Tableau would be beneficial but not essential
  • An ability to solve new and technically challenging problems, either independently or as part of a small team
  • Experience in an environment that has included working to deadlines and under pressure;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively
