The internal Regulation and Compliance team within our broader Risk Management function oversees the regulatory environment of the KPMG Australian Firm and its associated entities. The team provides compliance advice on business initiatives and engagements and undertakes monitoring to ensure appropriate compliance risk management practices are adopted and implemented to minimise compliance risks for the Firm.
Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity within our internal Risk Management function for an experienced and talented Manager to join our Regulation and Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant difference to KPMG as a firm by helping to drive compliance risk management initiatives and work directly with the business.
We are currently looking to recruit a driven and team focused individual to provide specialist regulatory support and advice on a range of compliance requirements, and to contribute to the development, management and maintenance of the compliance programs of the Firm as the business changes and grows. Whilst you’re key responsibilities will primarily be focused on our regulatory licensing obligations (including AFS Licensing), you will also assist with other regulatory and compliance matters.
The role requires a legal background, and strong communication skills to be able to engage directly with the business and risk management teams to obtain information to ensure advice provided is commercial and enables the business to manage compliance risk. Experience in privacy compliance or an understanding of the application of the privacy principles, date breach reporting or GDPR are an advantage as the role will be required to act as the local privacy liaison officer for KPMG Australia, reporting to the Head of R&C (in their capacity as National Privacy Officer).
Working in close collaboration with the other members of the Regulation and Compliance team, the Office of General Counsel and the wider Risk Management function, you will report to the Head of Regulation and Compliance.
