The Transformation Program Management team within KPMG is a highly experienced and motivated team that have been involved in some of Australia's largest and most complex reform programs. We know it takes more than a Project Plan to embark on a successful transformation journey. We know that being involved in transformations, through a Program Management Office role is very rewarding and a career launch pad.

We are looking for Managers to join our growing team in Sydney.

Your new role

Your role as a Consulting Program Manager will see you:

  • Assisting clients to plan projects using Agile, Scaled Agile or Waterfall (or equivalent) methodologies while taking into account scope, budget, time, quality, stakeholders, risks and issues;
  • Supporting either the Program Level Director or Stream level Project Managers on the delivery of projects, taking into account the stream priorities and overall project priorities;
  • Guiding the management of risks and issues, while being able to distinguish between manageable issues within your client’s tolerances and those that need to be escalated;
  • Supporting the establishment and operation of a program level PMO, or to lead the establishment and operation at a project level;
  • Working as a team member within a bid team to produce successful client solutions.

What you bring to the role

Your passion for developing client solutions through project management will be backed by the following attributes and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in running concurrent smaller projects (5-15 people) or in leading project streams for large scale transformation programs
  • Experience in the delivery of projects using project management methodologies
  • Honed Stakeholder management skills and the ability to adapt, manage and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds  
  • Sound evaluation capabilities regarding risks, issues, change impacts and time management
  • Highly developed communication and reporting skills
  • Prior experience working in either a Professional Consulting firm or a sizeable project ideally within Government, Defence or Financial Services sectors

The following will be well regarded, but not a necessity:

  • Australian Government Security Clearance.
  • Highly developed knowledge of MS Project.
