Located within KPMG's Audit, Assurance and Risk, Consulting Division, Risk Strategy & Technology, this Director role will focus on the Life and General Insurance sectors of the market

As part of our growth we are looking for an experienced Director.  You will support and drive our strategy by:

  • Overseeing complex client engagements, acting as a key contact with senior client personnel.
  • Understanding the commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement including managing fee-proposals, overruns and work above budget
  • Leading a practice management area within service line i.e. HR, Financial Management, Knowledge Management, product etc.
  • Effectively and efficiently managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver cross Audit Assurance and Risk Consulting and Divisional engagements.
  • Simplifying highly complex business situations and strategies to identify key issues and priorities and is able to relay this to the client in a simple and succinct manner.
  • Maintaining a specific Insurance (LOB) focus being aware of market trends, competitor activity and products/services.
  • Motivating and inspiring others within project teams and service lines, investing time in people by acting as a mentor across the wider KPMG business.
  • Enabling career progression for high-potential people by identifying development needs and providing guidance and knowledge to assist those people to further develop their skill set.
  • Supporting and encouraging people to continually increase their knowledge

You bring to the role:

  • Qualifications with a strong accounting, risk management or regulatory background. With approximately 10+ years of relevant business experience gained in Professional Services, Banking or Financial Services Industry
  • Deep specialisation in Insurance sectors
  • Deep Financial Services industry experience and understanding of the financial and regulatory reporting systems and requirements, including key concepts in relation to data governance
  • Prior experience leading a Risk function is desirable
  • A commercial and analytical mindset with complex problem solving skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and present your ideas with impact to clients and other key stakeholders
  • Experience in leading teams and providing training and guidance to build performance
  • Project management skills including experience in making strategic decisions across multiple engagements
