The Indirect Tax team in Sydney is a market leading, dynamic, diverse team that is currently working with some of the best clients and on some of the biggest transactions in Australia.

Indirect Tax are offering the opportunity for an Indirect Tax specialist to join them in our Sydney office as an Assistant Director in their growing team. 

About the role

In order to be successful in this role you will be:

  • A Tax professional with deep knowledge of Australian Stamp Duty and or GST legislation and providing high quality and practical advice confidently to corporates across all industries.
  • Excellent client interaction skills
  • A team player, used to working successfully with senior tax specialists to deliver specific client requirements
  • An accomplished professional, capable of running multiple engagements of varying size and scope with varying timeframes, and interacting with tax and advisory colleagues and teams from across KPMG
  • Sound coaching and mentoring skills - taking care in providing guidance and mentoring to junior tax consultants  

You bring to the role

Along with a combination of the above it would be expected you have a mix of the following:

  • Experience providing Australian Stamp Duty Taxation advice
  • A commitment to client service with a proven track record of developing strong relationships with clients.
  • Strong tax technical knowledge and skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, supervise and mentor team members
  • An honest and ethical approach to business which will provide a natural fit with KPMG's values
