Your Opportunity

KPMG’s Management Consulting group is seeking a top calibre, high performing Associate Director to join our rapidly growing Workplace Relations Advisory team. 

This role builds and takes ownership of key client relationships by managing others to deliver, leading business development activities and leveraging opportunities to grow KPMG’s business.  You will be responsible for managing the day to day delivery of client projects, as well as providing technical knowledge and direction to team members.

This opportunity will find you working with a passionate team with a wealth of workplace relations experience from a variety of sectors on a range of blue chip client engagements across sectors, providing guidance to clients with C-level client interactions. This role also has responsibility for market and business development activities where you will be expected to take a lead on proposals and budget management. It will require the ability to quickly understand the different service lines and sectors across KPMG to ensure that we have a solution driven approach to our clients’ needs.

Primarily, your responsibilities will be leading the delivery of Workplace Relations Advisory engagements, which include activities such as:

  • current state workplace relations assessments
  • payroll compliance assessments
  • Stakeholder consultation and communications
  • Enterprise Agreement negotiation strategies and planning
  • Employee campaigning
  • Future state design
  • Support major workplace relations projects and enterprise change initiatives

You will also be responsible for working on a variety of People & Change engagements dealing with broader HR matters.

We are looking for someone who applies innovative and creative techniques in solving complex problems on client engagements and is able to suggest and implement process improvements that continue to add value to the client.

How are you Extraordinary?

The successful candidates will be able to clearly demonstrate:

  • Have extensive experience in IR/HR or a related area, ideally in the Defence, Government or broader manufacturing industry;
  • Have delivered excellence in client service, preferably within a consulting environment;
  • Have experience leading and delivering client projects in a structured way which delivers tangible, high quality outcomes within constrained timeframes;
  • Have strong advisory, business development skills and client relationship skills;
  • Have strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Have demonstrated attention to detail, excellent problem solving ability and high numeracy;
  • Are a self-motivated individual who enjoys working in strong, collaborative team environments;
  • Hold appropriate qualifications including a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Business, HR);
  • Proven ability to guide/coach others and contribute positively to a great team culture
  • Proven ability to build rapport and build highly trusted advisor relationships with clients and colleagues alike
