Associate Director – Business Development – Consumer and Industrial Markets

Based in Sydney the BDM Consumer & Retail Sector and Industrial Markets Sectors (CIM) will have responsibility for identifying and driving opportunities, building relationships with key client stakeholders and growing revenue across the firm’s divisions for the CIM sectors within the Corporates industry group. The BDM will apply industry/client issues knowledge, leverage key relationships within the sector and a strong ability to bring together different capabilities to increase quality pipeline and convert opportunities into revenue for the Sector

Your opportunity

  • Bring your exceptional relationship management skill to develop and enhance client relationships, collaborate effectively across multiple divisions and become the ‘go to person’ for the CIM sector
  • Engage with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) from inside and outside the firm to develop further your deep understanding of our clients issues in this space, bringing together new propositions to market that are innovative and effective in solving our clients problems
  • Use your discipline to run best practice CSTs (Client Service Teams) and forums that leverage our client knowledge resulting in increased sales pipeline and conversion, better customer experience for our clients and deliver on our growth ambitions for the sector  
  • Lead by example, celebrate success and develop junior team members of the BD community
  • Bring your passion for the sector and for growing a business and demonstrating the utmost commitment for seeing initiatives through from inception to implementation
  • Make a difference by joining a team ripe for new ideas and contributing to the transformation of some of the most iconic brands and disrupted sectors

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in a sales or client-facing professional role, in a complex solution sales environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate best practice in the selling process and business development activities.
  • Ability to adapt your communication style including strong questioning and listening skills.
  • Demonstrated relevant industry sector experience will be highly regarded
  • Experience in a professional services or technology organisation is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in building effective stakeholder relationships at all levels
  • Managing multiple activities and priorities in a project or business environment with a high degree of autonomy and self-organisation is essential
