Retail Manager - Part Time

It will be 22.5 hours per week and will be split across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

An exciting part time opportunity has arisen for a Retail Manager to join our Rouse Hill Shopping Centre. This role is a job share and will be split with our existing Retail Manger. You will collaborate and  partner closely together to ensure operational efficiency is ran through the centre. This will be 7 month fixed term appointment and a golden opportunity to work with one of Australia’s largest prime retail assets.

The opportunity

As a Retail Manager your key responsibilities of your will include;

  • Solid understanding of the centre’s Key Performance Indicators including monthly and annual sales of retailers and any associated commodity group and precinct trends.
  • Establish relationships with critical/key opinion leaders and key performance retailers to understand the market conditions, fluctuations in their business and ensure a proactive response to their needs.
  • Development and implementation of the Retailer Engagement Strategy.
  • Undertake quarterly competitor visits to understand movements and changes within the Melbourne retail market.
  • Monitor lease compliance and ensure delivery of retailer standards.
  • Compliance with assignment procedures and legislation with a view to managing the process of assessing and recommending any prospective assignees.
  • Contribute to the operational asset leasing process to ensure the vision is achieved in the retail mix for the short term strategy.
  • Proactively monitor the debtors’ situation to ensure that any critical retailers are identified early and managed.
  • Assist with, and contribute to, centre financial reporting and business planning as required
  • Participation in Duty Manager Roster as required
  • Other management related tasks as required by the Centre Manager

  • Strong understanding of the Retail industry and sector
  • Prior experience in  Centre Management or Retail Management
  • Ability to develop and deliver business strategies in an innovative and dynamic way that results in strong centre performance across all key business indicators
  • Ability to deliver key initiatives on time
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of commercial acumen and financial understanding
  • Strong knowledge of Retail Leases Act
