With finance taking on a bigger role in guiding and executing on government strategy, CFOs are looking for ways to make sure their departments and agencies are actually ready for the job. It’s all about the knowledge and experience we bring to every engagement, helping CFOs provide a more balanced set of information and insights to drive and improve business activities and investment decisions.

As part of Deloitte’s Finance Consulting practice, you will be leading the way amongst pioneers shaping the course of modern finance in the digital world and assisting CFO, executives and Finance stakeholders to accelerate into this new age.

About the role

As a Director within our Finance practice, you will have the opportunity to lead and deliver large pieces of client engagements across our core services of Finance Strategy and Financial Operations in a digital world.

Your role will be to deliver solutions for CFO’s and their stakeholders helping them to develop strategies and capabilities to support government wide decision making outcomes, improve operations and create an impact within their organisation.

You will be contributing to building the momentum in reshaping our existing skills, service offerings and intellectual property to assist the CFO, Executives and Finance’s stakeholders to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness in protecting and providing outstanding governance, control and delivering value-added insights to improve business performance and stakeholder value.

Your Opportunity

Successful Directors will have the following preferred skills:

  • Proven ability to develop solutions, develop relationships and be active in the market
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong client relationships and the ability to build a business with a supporting team
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Drive innovation through leveraging the latest in Digital technology collateral build and grow Deloitte’s business creating thought leadership and client proposals
  • Deconstruct various business needs from client CFOs and their finance functions and translate them into digital finance technology enablers
  • Partner with client leadership into shaping their digital and finance transformation journey and drive the design and creation of high quality outcomes and deliverables
  • Apply your experiences to lead conversations around critical client issues and navigate meaningful outcomes through structured problem solving and team collaboration
  • An eagerness and strong ability to adapt to a wide arrange of teams, problems and work environments
  • We are looking for energetic individuals with consulting experience and/or experience working on large scale corporate or government projects.
  • Ideally you will have a track record of motivating and managing high performing team and engage in coaching and development opportunities of some of Deloitte’s brightest minds

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business / Commerce, Technology or a quantitative field (e.g. Engineering, Maths, Science, Statistics)
  • 5+ years professional experience in leading, developing and growing opportunities within and across the public sector
  • Strong functional knowledge around financial systems and processes , strong client relationships and an ability to network and drive opportunities to practical business solutions
  • Excellent structured problem solving skills and analytical thinking with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Skilled at synthesising and drawing insights from qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate resilience and strong commitment towards project and personal goals
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Prior consulting / professional services experience (preferred)
