Senior Consultant/Manager, Tax Controversy & Policy (FSO), Sydney
Our FSO Tax Controversy and Policy team provides an end-to-end tax controversy service. We are looking for a Senior Consultant or Manager to join our team.
As a Senior Consultant/Manager, you’ll help our Financial Services clients develop and implement tax corporate governance and risk management frameworks and strategies. You will advise clients in relation to tax administration laws and manage interactions with the ATO and other revenue authorities (including advising on private binding ruling requests, risk reviews and audits). You will have the opportunity to be involved in dispute resolution – both informal (negotiation, mediation etc) and formal (litigation processes).
Your key responsibilities
Drawing on your tax experience, you will have exposure to all aspects of the tax controversy service offering. You will advise a range of clients, from large corporates to high net worth individuals, helping them to develop and document their tax corporate governance processes and test the operational effectiveness of their tax corporate governance framework. You will research matters of tax administration, get involved in dispute resolution processes and help clients respond to requests for information in the context of ATO reviews and audits. You will draft objections, private binding ruling requests, requests for amended assessments and submissions against penalties.
