Senior Consultant, CCaSS - Perth

EY works with clients to help them address complex business problems and opportunities relevant to sustainability.  Our Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team is part our Assurance practice which is one of the most trusted, respected and influential in the industry. As a climate change and sustainability professional, you’ll guide your clients as they navigate climate change and sustainability issues. You’ll help them to understand business and regulatory threats and opportunities, and explore and help to execute commercial transactions.
Do you want to work strategically with clients to help them balance risks, take advantage of opportunities and achieve their goals in a changing world? Our projects cover a broad range of topics including greenhouse and energy, sustainability reporting and assurance, human rights, outcome measurement and health, safety and environment amongst others. Examples of our current engagements include:

  • Human rights assessment of large resources companies
  • Greenhouse gas assurance over large conglomerate
  • Sustainability assurance over large resources companies
  • Mine closure advisory work for mining companies
  • Sustainability advisory for financial and mining companies
  • Large scale quality and health and safety assessments for government organisations

About the opportunity
You’ll spend most of your time assisting clients identify, measure, and manage their business and reporting risks as they respond to changing regulations, demands and trends in sustainability. You’ll enjoy actively contributing to the growth and development of the CCaSS practice by taking operational responsibility and accountability for engagement delivery.
Skills and attributes for success

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business decision-makers, both internally and externally
  • Communicating EY’s scope of services and providing guidance in the delivery of Climate Change & Sustainability Services
  • Identifying and communicating trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client, while demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry and marketplace
  • Representing the practice in management forums and supporting the rapid, profitable growth of the business

Ideally qualifications/experience

  • At least 3 years of experience working in an environmental or sustainability-related role
  • Knowledge of and a passion for sustainability related areas or topics
  • Strong project management and personnel management skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
  • Professional presence with the ability to engage management level clients as well as internal leadership stakeholders

Ability to analyse complex or unusual issues in the context of client engagements and deliver insightful and pragmatic solutions
