Senior Associate, Financial Services Lawyer - Sydney

The opportunity
 
Our Corporate and Financial Services Law team is looking to hire a Senior Associate with six to ten years of relevant experience to be based in Sydney.  As a corporate lawyer with experience in financial services, you will develop a range of legal and commercial skills and work across the financial services sector in multi-disciplinary teams for key clients. You will be engaged in the development of new financial services businesses, new financial products and advising on the constantly changing regulatory issues affecting the sector.
 
Your key responsibilities
 
As a Senior Associate in the Financial Services Law team, you will manage the delivery of key client projects including:

  • Providing financial services law and regulatory advice in multidisciplinary teams for domestic and foreign financial services providers
  • Structuring new financial products and advising on regulatory and licensing compliance
  • Developing programs and policies for regulatory compliance
  • Drafting complex fund and corporate documents
  • Building strong relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders across EY
  • Integrating and implementing legal analysis and advice within a multi-disciplinary focus
  • Applying commercial judgment
  • Develop your career by receiving excellent mentoring from highly experienced lawyers
  • Mentoring and managing junior staff

Skills and attributes for success

  • The ideal candidate will be commercially astute
  • Demonstrate strong technical and drafting skills
  • Natural relationship building and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.

To qualify for the role you must have the following

  • Corporate and/or financial services experience with a passion for the financial services sector
  • A positive approach and a can do attitude
  • Excellent client facing skills and strong commercial acumen
  • Experience in working as part of a team, with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
