The opportunity
As a Manager, you will be a key team member in identifying and realising tax opportunities to our clients. You will be helping companies achieve an efficient and effective tax function by offering leading compliance and advisory practice solutions, with a focus on bringing clarity to complexity. You will contribute to a positive team atmosphere of commitment and optimism and will be demonstrating your ability to coach others. You will be working in an entrepreneurial environment where you’ll have the freedom to innovate for clients and drive your own career.

Your key responsibilities
Drawing on your tax experience, you will be part of a team leading organisations to identify risk areas and to develop corporate tax planning and structuring ideas. Working with a diverse range of clients, you will provide technical advice and assist them in managing their compliance obligations. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside global peers, including project management and working with EY’s speciality tax practice areas.  You will partner with many of the firm’s leaders to drive market opportunities and to continue to help the evolution of our practice and what is delivered to our clients.
 
Skills and attributes for success

  • Corporate tax technical skills
  • Ability to develop strong and broad relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service
  • Ability to work with a number of different clients and internal stakeholders on multiple deadlines
  • Ability to research and compile information quickly, and accurately, while testing assumptions
  • Ability to maintain open and proactive communication and to team with people of diverse & multidisciplinary backgrounds
  • Delegation skills including an ability to teach junior staff new skills
  • Ability to assist directors and partners in the pursuit of strategic opportunities for existing and new clients
  • Critical thinking, and capability of complex and creative problem solving

 
 
To qualify for the role you must have

  • Relevant tax experience, ideally gained in a top tier accounting firm, corporate, business consulting or legal environment

 
Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Australian tax experience
  • Post graduate qualifications
