The opportunity
 
Insurance Technology Group provides business IT services and offerings to insurance clients covering the following major areas:
 
Core insurance (policy, claims and billing) platforms – platform transformation, data migration, financial system integration
 
Portal and mobile – core insurance platform integration, application development
 
Data management – data feed from warehouse, data analytics and reporting
 
Business process engineering – software selection, workflow and process modelling.
 
Your key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Owner, Development and Management teams to deliver quality projects to agreed schedules
  • Provide effort estimation to complete technical tasks and ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and to the highest quality
  • Keep abreast of latest technological developments/strategies in Software Development process and implement, where appropriate
  • Demonstrate understanding of software engineering lifecycle i.e. be aware of dependencies across delivery phases from requirements analysis to release management
  • Ensure relevant project technical specifications are produced and kept up-to-date, as well as transferable across ITG projects, where applicable
  • Be supportive of onshore/offshore delivery model i.e. find effective ways of working
  • Responsible for leading a strong software development team of both permanent and contracted resources
  • Support on-boarding of new team members
  • Keep abreast on improvement to personal technical skill set to support delivery teams.

We’re looking for people with some or many of the following skills and experience

  • Negotiation, difficult conversation management and prioritisation skills
  • Flexibility to handle multiple complex projects and changing priorities
  • Ability to deal with rapid/frequent change in a positive manner and to lead staff through changing priorities
  • Able and willing to learn complex business processes
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical problem solving skills – hands-on and collaborative
  • Improving technical leadership skills – decisive, supportive, accountable, resilient
  • Self-management – time management, self-starting awareness of self and others.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A tertiary qualification and technical expertise relevant to the role
  • Proven experience in iterative project delivery
  • Proven success in delivering under a fast-paced project environment
  • Knowledge of Insurance domain and strong Guidewire knowledge
  • Proven client facing experience.

The preferred applicant will be subject to employment screening by EY or by their external third party provider. Regarding these opportunities, the minimum salary for more junior positions is $70,000 including 9.5% superannuation.
