Digital Content Manager - 9 month contract - Sydney

The opportunity

 

The successful applicant joins our Oceania Brand, Marketing and Communication team, reporting to the Content Lead, Oceania. You will be responsible for helping to implement a new externally-facing website, execute the digital content strategy, identify and adapt content from within our organisation for localised use and ensure publication of the content to the new platform in a systematic, accurate and and time critical manner. The initial focus will be on establishing the new site and its content for launch in September 2019. This is a contract role with an opportunity with the possibility for extension dependent on project rollout.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations to the team on what content to use for the new Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, PNG) site and help implement the new content taxonomy and site navigation during and after migration to the new site.
  • Work closely with optimisation experts to ensure all existing and new content is optimised for web publication
  • Scope publishing requirements and develop a publishing plan with senior team members, including working alongside our social media manager to ensure our social and digital offering is aligned
  • Where necessary write web content and conduct research and analysis under the guidance of senior team members to support the development of key digital projects across the organisation 
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and project support, including developing and monitoring digital project plans and coordinating resources where necessary. 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • You are organised and systematic, with excellent attention to detail and strong content coordination skills
  • You have an understanding of Adobe publishing suite and are confident communicating your knowledge to others
  • You have web content writing experience, with business writing experience a plus
  • You understand how to create and publish content that complies with accessibility, usability and visual identity guidelines
  • You enjoy being a self directed team member, with a willingness to input your own opinions and challenge status quo to drive the best outcomes and the best content. You have wherewithal to juggle competing requirements on your time, particularly during the launch period.
  • You are a keen consumer of what’s new in digital media and enjoy testing the boundaries of what can be done with digital publishing. You’re good at asking ‘what else can we do with this?’
