Consultant/Senior Consultant - Strategy - Canberra


EY Strategy is an essential and fast growing component of our high performing Advisory practice.
 
With rapid advancements in technology continuing to disrupt traditional business models, solutions to our clients’ most pressing business issues are increasingly complex and required to be solved through the delivery of end-to-end solutions. The primary focus of the EY strategy team is to lead from the front in identifying the strategic opportunities presented by these changes and the solutions that will drive competitive advantage.
 
We are seeking individuals who have a demonstrated track record in strategy consulting, strategic planning or commercially oriented roles within industry.
 
The opportunity
As a member of the EY Strategy team, you will partner closely with your colleagues across the broader Advisory practice to embed strategic and innovative thinking into client delivery across all business functions. This may include consideration of:

  • How public sector clients can deliver services more efficiently and maximise public value
  • How private sector clients can improve customer engagement and maximise profitability
  • How emerging technologies can be leveraged to develop new business models and unlock real business value
  • How business value can be maintained and realised through strategic planning, activation and execution cycle.

More broadly,  as a Senior Consultant you will use your analytical ability to translate the corporate strategy of leading organizations into purposeful change. Working in high-performing teams, you’ll help clients develop growth strategies, develop business cases, improve strategic decision-making, define new operating models and deliver programs of work. Through this, you will find yourself gaining a broad experience across a diverse range of market sectors, business functions and solutions.



Your key responsibilities 


As a Senior Consultant you can expect to be involved in the following activities: 

  • Helping private and public sector clients to solve enterprise-wide strategic, organisational and operational issues
  • Planning and leading work streams on strategic and operational model projects;
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to advise on various strategy considerations
  • Building and maintaining client stakeholder relationships
  • Maintaining and expanding external networks;
  • Guiding and development of more junior colleagues.

 
Skills and attributes for success 

  • A high level of business acumen complemented with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to build effective, long-lasting relationships with clients;
  • Experience in strategic and operational model projects;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Strong communication and writing skills in English;

 
To qualify for the role you must have

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills;
  • Proven track of people management experience in relevant projects and industries;
  • Strong ability to influence and lead others;
  • Ability to work under pressure.

 
Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in providing consulting services in strategy formulation and planning, organisation design, and operation and business process improvement;
  • Experience with leading industry players, including multinational companies or domestic large-scale leading companies, is a plus.
