Business Development Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and experienced Business Development professional to join our team based in Sydney. You will be responsible for development of wind and solar project: from strategy, project identification, Permitting and connection assessment, to contract negotiation, bid preparation, PPA procurement and negotiation. You will work closely with colleagues from various offices around the world as well as external vendors. 

Duties

  • Work towards project opportunities identification and assessments, regulatory feasibility and approvals
  • Manage the development of wind and solar projects, with focus on Land securing, Permitting and Connection activities.
  • Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including developers, Transmission Service Operators, Councils and suppliers.
  • Procure and negotiate Power Purchase Agreement for renewable projects.
  • Support financial department on Project Finance activities.
  • Effectively coordinate within internal teams (Technical, Financial and Legal) and other stakeholders in order to execute and expedite all project related work leading to Investment Decision as per defined internal procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of short and long term strategies for developing new projects.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Experience in the development of solar and wind projects in Australia
  • Experience in Land securing, permitting and connection processes within Australia
  • Experience with Financial Close of Renewable Energy projects
  • Experience with PPA securing and negotiation for Renewable Energy Projects
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic company and travel mainly around Australia but also APAC region and Europe
  • Energy Market and Regulatory framework knowledge
  • Self-driven and high commitment
  • Strategic thinking, prioritization skills and able to plan and execute under defined procedures.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • Good team working and team management skills
  • Flexible with working hours and able to work in deadline driven environment.
