Emergency Response Attendant- Casual


Abervale Retirement Village, conveniently located in Grovedale, offers a relaxed and comfortable lifestyle for our many residents.

The village is currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed and reliable Emergency Response Attendant to provide onsite overnight (between 2pm – 7am incorporating a sleepover shift) and various day shift response to Village emergency calls. The position will be on a casual, rotating roster, with plenty of opportunity to pick up further shifts covering sick and annual leave. When you are not responding to Emergencies, you will be required to perform other ad-hoc duties, such as working in the kitchen or performing general cleaning and housekeeping.

With a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, you will have proven experience in dealing with the elderly, along with the ability to make critical decisions in relation to emergency call outs from residents. You will have a professional and positive approach to work and ensure that all residents’ needs are met in accordance with Lendlease standards and Resident Committee requirements.

To be successful you must have;

  • Current First Aid Certificate (essential).
  • Strong customer service skills, with a genuine interest in working with the elderly.
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts, including sleepover and weekend shifts.
  • High motivation, with the ability to take initiative in often stressful situations.
  • Experience working within Aged Care or Retirement communities, or a similar emergency response role (desirable).

Internal training and Inductions will be provided to the successful candidate.
